Pint of Science - Polymers: life in plastic, it's fantastic!

General public Other

Did you know that what is commonly called plastic is really part of a huge family of materials termed polymers? From the houses we live in to the food we eat, we encounter hundreds of polymers daily. Our speakers will take you through a journey of discovery of the cool applications these materials can have, from responding to stimuli to being a resource for sustainability.

Pint of Science brings some of the most brilliant scientists to your local pub to share their latest research and findings. You don't need any prior knowledge, and this is your chance to meet the people responsible for the future of science (and have a pint with them). The festival takes place annually over three days in the month of May simultaneously in over 400 cities worldwide. Pint of Science in Switzerland is a not-for-profit association run by volunteer scientists and science enthusiasts. This year, Pint of Science Fribourg will take place at the Café des Grand-Places, a short walk from the main railway station, on May 13, 14, and 15. The organizing team and participating scientists look forward to meeting you there!
