“from-surface” cellular uptake of nanoparticles

Study and engineer the “from-surface” cellular uptake of nanoparticles.

Today’s medical technologies (for example cardiac implantable devices) benefit from a local substrate-tissue interaction. We focus on the geometrical, mechanical and energy characteristics of the particle-substrate synergy to achieve our goal. By seeding engineered nanoparticles, on tailored surfaces, we can tune uptake by the cell; based on the nanoparticle, functionalisation and payload we can ultimately provide surfaces aimed at cellular growth and specific differentiation.
