Incorporation of nanoparticles to tune the properties of epoxy polymeric materials.

Nanoparticles can be incorporated into polymeric materials to form a composite with unique properties.

It is well known that the physicochemical properties of nanoparticles as well as its dispersion state within the polymer matrix strongly affect the final material properties. This project aims to develop a nanoparticle-based composite material with enhanced properties (optical, mechanical, and mass transfer) by tuning the type and size of nanoparticles added to the resin as well as the composite processing conditions to optimize their distribution for given applications.
