Professor Pascal Pichonnaz, from the Law Faculty, was appointed President of the European Law Institute on February 12.

This is a significant appointment: The European Law Institute is an independent institution designing projects to improve regulation in Europe in all areas of law. Composed of judges, professors and leading professionals, the Institute is in close contact with the European Commission, the European Parliament, as well as representatives of individual countries in the European Union.

Professor Pichonnaz holds the Chair of Private and Roman Law at the University of Fribourg.
