Collective emission in metamaterials

Polarisation and angle resolved thermal emission and fluorescence in network-like metamaterials

In this project, we aim to understand and exploit collective spontaneous quantum emission in different types of network-like metamaterials. We are currently on the one hand interested in fluorescence enhancement and angular and polarization dependence within highly anisotropic hyperbolic metamaterials, and on the other hand in thermal emission of platinum nano-structures at near-infrared frequencies. We work on nano-fabrication of network-like plasmonic geometries, and building a theoretical framework and experimental characterization in collaboration with the institute d'optique Paris-Sud.
