Microfluidics for Tailored Photonic Microparticle Fabrication
Microfluidic techniques enable the precise and scalable fabrication of polymer microparticles with controlled size, architecture, and high uniformity—opening new avenues in soft matter design.
This research leverages microfluidic technologies to fabricate polymer-based photonic microparticles with high precision and reproducibility. By controlling emulsion conditions at the microscale, we can produce particles with well-defined geometries, monodispersity, and internal complexity. The platform supports advanced droplet templating strategies, including double emulsions, allowing for the integration of multiple functional layers or compartments. This approach offers a versatile route to soft photonic materials with programmable optical properties and structural order, laying the groundwork for innovative applications in coatings, sensing, and responsive materials.
